We have been with friends in Maryland the past week and ended up spending an extra day before returning home today.
It was a nice trip and I was able to visit a number of historic places and museums dedicated to Frederick Douglass, Harriet Tubman, Black History, the Civil War, and Fort McHenry. I will do an article to talk about my experience at those places and my recommendations for visiting them tomorrow or Friday.
I wanted to see Oppenheimer yesterday but the times that I could see it were sold out so I watched Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. Since I am determined to see Oppenheimer and Judy was tired from the trip, I got some dinner and a couple of Kilkenny Irish Creme ales at my local watering hole and I am writing this as I wait for the 6:30 showing of Oppenheimer. I will write my reviews of both films after the museum article, one spoiler, Mads Mikkelsen who played Hannibal Lecter in the series Hannibal was a great Nazi villain in the Indiana Jones film. He really needs to be cast as a James Bond villain.
Finally, our trip home was nice, and our rescue pup, Sunny Dae showed me that she needs to be my driving buddy. I haven’t had one like here since Minnie or Molly who we lost in 2020 and 2015 respectively. Our trip home took about four hours and she was sitting like a Starship Captain between us for almost two hours as the other three pups slept. That’s dedication.
So anyway, see you soon.
First time l was able to read your post from my iPhone. Easy on my eyes after hours of updating my correspondence and driving through traffic.
Took Fred Adell, wildlife artist who is both client and friend to see Oppenheimer early this afternoon!
We both enjoyed it, but l was distracted by trying to identify the actors. The ego-driven antagonist, Robert Downy Jr. was outstanding, as was most of the cast. The plot was rather thin (l realize this was based on actual events, but a better script would have helped). Otherwise the production was visually and musically inspired, though the message got muddled. Bombs good, people bad?!
Pleased to report that my new hearing aids were functioning well, which ended a downhill decline in my hearing and appreciation of the big screen.
Still rely on subtitles on home screenings.
If you haven’t watch “Peaky Blinders”, Irish infighting series, featuring the Oppenheimer lead, Cillain Murphy you’re in for a thrill.
Mesmerizing and with a wickedly good female lead to spice things up!
Looking pretty fabulous.and very intrepid.
