The Purge at the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Coming of the American Wilhelm “the Lackey” Keitel

It took a month but the purge at the Pentagon has officially begun, although it might have really begun with the firing of the Commandant of the Coast Guard, Admiral Linda Fagan just a day after Trump’s inauguration. Today, General C.Q. Brown a decorated fighter pilot and commander at numerous levels of command who was the first African American Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff was fired by President Trump.

Trump nominated the relatively unknown Air Force Lieutenant General Dan “Razin” Caine who has never held any high command, spent much of his time as a General as a Reservist who before he returned to active duty working for the CIA described himself as a “serial investor”. He attended CPAC in 2019 where he let Trump put a red MAGA hat on his head while in uniform, a direct violation of the UCMJ.

Likewise, according to the U.S. Code Caine is not eligible to be nominated as he has not served in any of the positions required by law to serve as Chairman. The U.S. Code states the “President may appoint an officer as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff only if the officer has served as (A) the Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff; (B) the Chief of Staff of the Army, the Chief of Naval Operations, the Chief of Staff of the hAir Force, the Commandant of the Marine Corps, or the Chief of Space Operations; or (C) the commander of a unified or specified combatant command.”

Lieutenant General Caine can be best compared to General Wilhelm Keitel, who Adolf Hitler made the Chief of the newly created Oberkommando des Wehrmacht. Keitel was a political animal who thrived on power, was absolutely obedient to Hitler. He signed several criminal orders and ordered German commanders to ignore the Geneva and Hague Conventions. Keitel was despised by other Generals, including Nazi supporters as a “Lackey” of Hitler. Keitel was hanged as a convicted war criminal at Nuremberg.

Additionally, the Chief of Naval Operations, Admiral Lisa Franchetti and the Vice Chief of Staff of Staff, General James Slife and the Judge Advocate General for the Army, Air Force and Navy. Admiral Franchetti was the first female Chief of Naval Operations who commanded the guided missile destroyer USS Ross, two Destroyer Squadrons, and two Carrier Strike Groups before commanding the 6th Fleet. General Slife spent much of his career in Special Operations and Held high positions in U.S. Special Operations Command before being promoted to the position that he was just fired from. Be assured that this is not the end of the purge.

We have now entered in an era where loyalty to “Herr Trump” matters more than competence or loyalty to one’s oath of office or our country. I hate to see which honorable men and women are sacrificed next and which political lackeys are appointed in their places.

Robert Jackson said this about Keitel at Nuremberg:

“Keitel, the weak and willing tool, delivered the armed forces, the instrument of aggression, over to the Party and directed them in executing its felonious designs.”

Only a complete idiot, fool or ideologue could refuse to what will be our fate. Under Trump the military will not make America great, instead it will be used as an instrument of aggression and war crimes, we will be no better than Nazi Germany or Stalin’s Soviet Union, and because we are Americans we will be far more deserving of our fate than most Germans or Russians as we should know better.

With that in mind I wonder if the remaining high ranking military officers will remember, if they even know the words of General Ludwig Beck who resigned his post as Chief of Staff of the German Army rather than command the invasion of Czechoslovakia in September 1938. He died following the failure of Operation Valkyrie on 20 July 1944. He said:

“Final decisions about the nation’s existence are at stake here; history will incriminate these leaders with bloodguilt if they do not act in accordance with their specialist political knowledge and conscience. Their soldierly obedience reaches its limit when their knowledge, their conscience, and their responsibility forbid carrying out an order.”
