When I read the indictment against Donald Trump and the Mar El Lago documents case I was impressed with the work of the prosecutors in presenting it. Some of that included the account of Trump sharing classified war plans involving Iran with two aides, the author of a biography of his last Chief of Staff, Mark Meadows, and the editor of the publishing company. None had any clearance to see or even know about the plans. That part of the indictment is shown below.
That was amazing, but until the actual recordings were released this evening, their full impact on a jury could not be assessed. But, once they are heard they are unable to walk back. These aren’t deepfakes, they aren’t manipulated, they are pure unadulterated Donald Trump. Here is the video:
The audio is prima facia evidence that Trump committed the crimes that he has been charged. If this was anyone else in the United States they would be taking a plea deal. His defense attorneys will do everything that they can to obfuscate and confuse the issue in the media and during the trial when it finally happens. When I conducted investigations which were later turned over to Army prosecutors when I was an Army officer I was taught and strove to ensure that any physical evidence, sworn statements, chain of custody documents and even circumstantial evidence was so solid that it was unimpeachable. Prosecutors liked that because my investigations made it easy for them to prepare their cases, which they never lost. Of course a person with a mind like mine was not always appreciated when I went to seminary or entered the Chaplain Corps. Fellow seminarians who did not like my ability to take any side of a theological debate and scorch them, ask me why I wasn’t in law school. They did not mean it as a compliment. Nor did chaplains who found what I call my hermeneutic of suspicion when listen to someone who wanted me to do something for them. The questions that I always ask in my head when listening to a request are “Why this? Why me? Why now?” Those are key questions for anyone.
So ask those about Trump’s conversation on the tape with his friends. Why did he do it? Why tell them? And finally why then? The reason is revealed in the recording. He had been accused of trying to start a war with Iran and stupidity wanted to turn his guns on General Mark Milley and blame him. However, the military has war plans and contingency plans prepared and regularly updated for any possible event, and if you haven’t been paying attention, Iran has been a declared enemy of the United States, aka “the Great Satan” since 1979. He wanted to use those illegally obtained documents to smear General Milley and the U.S. Military. Second, he wanted his guests to help him, and because he felt pressure.
The evidence is damning and it won’t be heard in a vacuum. Be assured that the people at the table will be called to testify. But then to end this, let’s use Trump’s own words. “This is incredible… go get us some Cokes.”

This begs for a word that sums up ´self incriminating’ without using this cretins actual name, doesn’t it
