“dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal…”
These words of Abraham Lincoln in his Gettysburg Address remind us of Lincoln’s ever expanding understanding of liberty, based upon the words of the Declaration, “We believe that all men are created equal and endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights, among them, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”
These words, part of the secular scripture of our democracy are my motivation to write, teach, and speak.
