Rotten Wooden-Headedness
Trump in China

Barbara Tuchman wrote:
“Wooden-headedness, the source of self-deception, is a factor that plays a remarkably large role in government. It consists in assessing a situation in terms of preconceived fixed notions while ignoring or rejecting any contrary signs. It is acting according to wish while not allowing oneself to be deflected by the facts.”
If he is the king of anything, Donald Trump is the “King” of Wooden-Headedness, and the perverted Prince of Imbecility. Trump stands for nothing and is only interested in very fleeting transactional wins. Chinese President Xi sized Trump up during Trump’s first term, when Trump still had some adult supervision. Now he has fully measured the husk of a man in Trump’s body.
The State visit to China that Trump put off when he and Benji Netanyahu decided to attack Iran, and which he would give him a quick, overwhelming victory the he could run to Beijing to brag about. However, Trump’s failure has brought a crisis to the world economy that China isn’t happy about, but willing to take advantage of to put Trump’s withered testicles in a vice. Xi humiliated Trump during the summit. Trump was presented with two and a half hours of staged military might and beautiful pageantry, and all he could do was to try to flatter and suck up to Xi, while Xi lectured Trump about Taiwan. Unlike “Sleepy Joe” Biden, who forcefully stood up to Xi, Trump said nothing. This was noticed in Asia and the rest of the world. Trump’s buffoonery was on fully display as the supposed master of the “Art of the Deal” was humiliated. As an American it was difficult to watch. I despise what Trump is doing to our country and how he is debasing himself on the world stage while embarrassing, humiliating, and betraying the United States, all Americans, and our loyal long suffering allies. I hate MAGA and the cult like devotion of his Right Wing Christian Nationalist supporters. Sadly, too many were, or remain friends.
Barbara Tuchman was right about “Wooden-Headedness” and Donald Trump remains the prime example of a rotted wooden head. Have you ever walked across or put your hands into rotten wood? I have, it is both fascinating and disgusting. It crumbles and is frequently inhabited by boring insects and ants. If you reach into it with your hands, those creatures willingly scamper into it and up your arms, sometimes biting as they do. That my friends is a vivid depiction of Donald Trump’s mind. It is a rotten piece of wood crawling with insects eating it.
Anyway, this just is a short article to make a succinct point about the current American President. Tuchman, who never met Donald Trump and died before he was more than a real estate tycoon and New York celebrity. However, she wrote something that fully describes Trump’s insatiable lust for power, which could not be contained to business or television:
“Chief among the forces affecting political folly is lust for power, named by Tacitus as "the most flagrant of all the passions." Because it can only be satisfied by power over others, government is its favorite field of exercise. Business offers a kind of power, but only to the very successful at the top, and without the dominion and titles and red carpets and motorcycle escorts of public office.”
Anyway, it’s late and I am tired, so until next time I wish you a good night, a better tomorrow, and please watch your six.

I hope you get a decent night of sleep. Something we all desperately need. As well
as something to wake up to in the morning that doesn't make us cringe or cry
or invent new invectives. We must not give up. We must refuse to accept this
obscene administration.
Would like to read this, but just had emergency surgery the day after our furniture was moved from South Carolina to North Carolina. Lying in a motel room in North Carolina, I’m just waiting to get well enough to unpack some of those many, many boxes. Knowing you, I know this is an excellent article. All my best, Kathy.
