Indeed. We through our lack of alarm at Trump’s lawlessness, and MAGA’s moral depravity did allow it to happen. Some of us tried to point it out in 2015, but too many people ignored the warnings and were as complacent as most Germans when Hitler came to power in 1933. Be safe out there.

Christ on a crutch. To think we've willed this horror show back again after only 80 years.

When do we get to bring the guillotines out and start sorting out these monsters?

Hitler had his ovens; trump has his GatorTraz with the dangerous elements. Easy to let illegals disappear in "escapes." Every week we have a new disaster distraction. I wonder what other plans he has up his dirty sleeves. "I'm ashamed to be an American where one time I was free. I will give my time to grieve that man who gave his life for me. And I'll gladly kneel down and truly pray.... God save the USA."

Joan. I completely agree. The pace of each disaster is designed to distract from the last. I have written about this before in this article. The accounts of William Shirer and Milton Mayer are of particular importance to our situation today.

I remember the January article as I responded to it. I have made a discission since then to change churches. I have been attending a UCC church for 27 years and realized the DEI by-laws are no longer accepted. This trump administration seems to give them permission to express their prejudices. Kindness, justice and humility are for church, but not for politics. Politics are to be private, not for church. I can't abide by that. I attended another UCC that encourages the DEI by-laws in ALL aspects of living. The church is open to Indivisible meetings and supports ways of protest, calls to reps, and possible town halls (no show, but taped and sent to the chicken). I had many responsibilities and enjoyed doing, but as of this Sunday, it comes to an end. I've been attending other church since Palm Sunday and still kept the old table set. Time for a change. I know you understand as you've made some changes, too. Bless you .. stay safe. Thank you.
